Vilander Bluff Natural Area. The Vilander Bluff Natural Area is a unit of the state park that is located at 38°05′56″N 91°08′20″W / 38.099°N 91.139°W / 38.099; -91.139 (Vilander Bluff Natural Area), 7 miles (11 km) northeast of the main body of the park.

Natural Features Description: The tall cliffs forming Vilander Bluff are carved from Ordovician period dolomite of the Gasconade formation primarily. The Vilander Bluff Natural Area was designated on Feb. 14, 1994, by the Missouri Natural Areas Committee, which is co-administered by the Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Conservation. The 206-acre natural area is seven miles from the main body of the park and borders the Meramec River. 2015-09-27 2010-10-14 2015-08-19 Vilander Bluff Natural Area.

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources makes no warranty, expressed or implied, as to the accuracy of the data or related materials and is not responsible for any damage or loss resulting from its use. This property has a combination of riparian corridor, wetlands, agricultural fields, and bluffs, which create a diverse plant and animal habitat. It is also the site of an old oxbow formed by the nearby Cache La Poudre River. This oxbow was abandoned in the late 60s or early 70 when the river was channeled to build a bridge across it.
The TVA River Bluff Small Wild Area Trail is a National Recreation Trail as well as a Tennessee Scenic Trail, located on the TVA Norris Dam Reservation in Anderson County, TN.
